Binge Eating Recovery & Support

HEAL YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD. FIND PEACE IN YOUR BODY. END THE BINGE-RESTRICT-SHAME CYCLE

If you’re exhausted from promising yourself “I’ll never do this again” after every binge — you’re not alone. And you’re not lacking willpower.

Binge eating isn’t about being “out of control.” It’s a complex phenomenon that can develop from years of dieting, chaotic food environments, trauma responses, or as a way to cope when food has stepped in to soothe and comfort.

Here’s what diet culture doesn’t tell you: The binge-restrict cycle is maintained by trying to control your eating, not by lack of control. Every diet or “fresh start” can actually makes binge eating more likely.

As a registered dietitian specializing in binge eating recovery, I offer a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach to healing. I help people understand what drives their patterns, rebuild trust with their body’s signals, and find lasting food freedom and sustained nourishment, without restriction or shame.

You don’t need more willpower or another meal plan. You need to understand why this is happening and learn to work with your body, not against it.

The restrict-binge cycle and "all or nothing" thinking with food

My Approach With Binge Eating

Gentle Structure Without Restriction

Some people benefit from more structured eating patterns to stabilize their hunger; others need more flexibility. I use tools like consistent meal timing and balanced eating when supportive to help the binging calm down and help you learn to trust your body again.

Understanding Your Triggers

Binge eating is complex and personal. We’ll explore what leads to your episodes—whether they stem from restriction patterns, emotional triggers, stress, childhood food experiences, trauma, or habit.

Intuitive Eating Adapted for Binge Eating Recovery

Traditional intuitive eating can feel overwhelming when you’re in binge-restrict cycles. We won’t push you too fast, but will help you figure out which principles can help you feel more calm and happy with food.

Emotional Regulation Support

I’ll help you develop alternative coping strategies for stress, anxiety, boredom, or other emotions that might trigger binge episodes. We won’t be pulling the rug out from under you, just bringing in additional ways to soothe yourself.

Safe, Collaborative Care

My priority is that you feel seen, safe, and never judged for your eating patterns. You’ll leave sessions with hope, practical tools, and a deeper understanding of your relationship with food and emotions.

My Approach To Binge Eating Recovery Is

Justice-Centered and Liberation-Focused

Binge eating often develops within systems that teach us to distrust our bodies and appetites. Whether your patterns stem from years of restriction or childhood food experiences, I help you understand these root causes—so you can stop blaming yourself and start nourishing yourself boldly and compassionately.

Evidence-Based Yet Holistic

I use proven approaches for binge eating recovery while honoring your lived experience and emotional needs. You’re the expert on your own triggers and patterns—I just bring clinical knowledge to support your healing journey.

Trauma-Informed and Nervous System Aware

I recognize how trauma (healthcare related or otherwise), stress, and emotional overwhelm contribute to binge eating. I create a space that feels emotionally safe while helping you develop new ways to regulate your nervous system without using food.

Paced At The Speed Of Healing

There’s no rush, no timeline, no “should be better by now.” We move at a pace that respects your readiness and emotional capacity because pushing too hard often triggers more binge episodes.

HAES®-aligned and weight-inclusive

Binge eating recovery isn’t about reaching a certain weight. It’s about developing a peaceful, trusting relationship with food and your body—regardless of what that body looks like. True recovery happens when we address the real underlying issues.

What to expect…

N

Compassionate, shame-free support

You’ll never be judged for your eating patterns or made to feel like you lack willpower. Binge eating is a logical response to restriction and emotional overwhelm, not a character flaw.

N

Weight-neutral care

Your worth isn’t determined by what you ate last night or what the scale says. We focus on how you feel emotionally and physically, not changing your body size. Your body size will change throughout your life, we’ll build strategies to make that feel okay, whether it goes up, goes down, or stays the same.

N

A collaborative partnership

You’re the expert on your own patterns and triggers. I bring clinical knowledge about binge eating recovery, but you guide what feels safe and sustainable for your healing.

What not to expect…

M

Disguised food rules

I won’t give you meal plans or tell you to avoid your binge foods. Restriction is often what created the binge eating in the first place, so we’ll work on the opposite approach.

M

"Just stop binging" advice

Recovery isn’t that simple. We’ll address the underlying reasons you’re binging—emotional, physical, and psychological—rather than just trying to control the behavior.

M

Weight loss focus

Your body needs to feel safe and adequately nourished for the binge urges to naturally decrease. If you feel intensity around wanting to lose weight, I’ll help hold that with you while protecting the healing work we’re doing.

What Working Together Looks Like

Free Discovery Call

We’ll talk about your binge eating patterns, triggers, and goals, and whether we’re a good fit. No pressure—just a chance to get to know each other and see if this approach feels right for you. If you might want to work with me, you can book a discovery call here  or send me a message if you’re unsure.

Regular Support Sessions

Weekly or biweekly sessions based on your needs. If you choose a package program, you’ll also have between-session support and additional resources. When you’re ready to taper off, we can space sessions further apart.

Initial Assessment (90 minutes)

A deep dive into your eating and weight history, health status, current patterns, emotional triggers, and what you hope to achieve. We’ll create a collaborative plan that feels safe and sustainable for your recovery.

If you are ready to hit the ground running, you’re welcome to book that appointment here.

Ongoing Collaboration

I’ll coordinate with your therapist or other mental health providers throughout our work to ensure you’re fully supported on your recovery journey.

it’s normal to have questions…

some FAQ

Do I need a formal binge eating disorder diagnosis to work with you?

Nope. Binge eating behaviors exist on a spectrum, and you don’t need a formal diagnosis to deserve support. Whether you binge occasionally or frequently, if it’s causing you distress, I’ll meet you where you are and take your experience seriously.

Will you help me stop binging immediately?

Recovery is a process and everyone is different. I do see a lot of people experience cessation of binging in just a couple months, others need more time. We’ll focus on understanding your patterns and addressing root causes rather than just trying to control the behavior.

What if I'm afraid I'll gain weight if I stop restricting?

This is one of the most common fears in binge eating recovery, and it’s completely understandable. We’ll work through these fears together. Many people find their weight stabilizes naturally when they stop the binge-restrict cycle, but weight changes are possible and normal during recovery.

Can I practice intuitive eating if I have binge eating disorder?

Yes, Intutive Eating can be an extremely helpful support for binging. We’ll go from where you’re at and bring in these strategies if they’ll be helpful.

Do you give meal plans?

I don’t typically provide rigid meal plans, as they can feel restrictive and potentially trigger more binges. That said, some folks do need more structure to stabilize them at first. We’ll work on gentle structure and flexible guidelines that support your recovery without recreating diet mentality.

What if I binge during our work together?

I’d expect that! Binges during recovery are normal and expected—they’re part of the healing process and unpacking all of this with me may be the key to success. We’ll use any binge episodes as learning opportunities to understand your triggers and adjust our approach.

I have another question.

I’d love to talk to you. You can send me a message and let me know what your concerns are. If it seems smart, we can set up a discovery call to explore more.

Ready to Break Free From the Binge-Restrict Cycle?

This work requires courage and self-compassion, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk with you toward food freedom, good nutrition, and a peaceful relationship with your body—without the shame and restriction that keeps you stuck.
