Perimenopause Nutritionist & Body Image Support

NAVIGATE PERIMENOPAUSE WITHOUT FEAR. UNDERSTAND YOUR CHANGING BODY.

Perimenopause brings real changes to your metabolism, appetite, and body, but restrictive “hormone balancing” diets and anti-aging supplements aren’t the answer.

Managing perimenopause doesn’t have to mean accepting that weight gain is inevitable, following expensive supplement protocols, or believing your body is failing you.

Sustainable perimenopause support comes from understanding your body’s natural changes, cutting through wellness industry misinformation, and finding empowered approaches that work with your real life, not trying to look like you did when you were 30. No ma’am.

As a registered dietitian, I help people navigate perimenopause without falling back into diet mentality.

Aging is normal. You don’t need to fight your body through perimenopause. You need practical, evidence-based strategies that help you live well as you age.

What I Support Clients With

I help people navigating perimenopause and midlife concerns, including:

Connecting with your body's changing hunger and fullness cues through intuitive eating

Understanding weight and body composition changes during hormonal transitions

Managing perimenopause symptoms through sustainable nutrition approaches

Understanding shifting appetite, mood, and cravings during hormonal transitions

Body image support during midlife and aging with empowerment, not fear

Sorting through supplement misinformation and evidence-based recommendations

Finding the right balance of relaxation and intention with food choices

Whether you’re just starting to notice body or mood changes or are deep in perimenopause or even menopause, here you’ll find the confidence to age the way you want.

My Approach To Perimenopause Support

Flexible Perimenopause Strategies

We’ll develop personalized approaches to perimenopause that work with your changing hormones, schedule, and lifestyle. This might include meal timing for energy stability, nutrient strategies for mood support, or intuitive eating adaptations for shifting hunger cues—all without rigid rules.

Body Wisdom During Hormonal Transition

Many people lose touch with their body’s cues during perimenopause as hormones fluctuate. We’ll work on recognizing and honoring your changing hunger, fullness, and satisfaction signals while building trust in your body’s intelligence during this transition.

Supplement Clarity and Evidence

The supplement industry heavily targets perimenopausal women with expensive protocols and fear-based marketing. I’ll help you sort through the claims, understand what research actually supports, and make informed decisions about supplements that might genuinely help.

Provider Advocacy and Coordination

Finding knowledgeable perimenopause care can be challenging. I can help you understand what to look for in menopause-trained providers, prepare for appointments, and coordinate nutrition support with your medical care.

Unpacking Fear Around Body Changes

Society teaches us to fear aging and body changes, creating anxiety that often worsens how you feel during this already difficult time. We’ll explore these fears with compassion and help you develop a more empowered relationship with your changing body.

Real-Life Application

We’ll practice perimenopause support strategies for actual situations: managing symptoms during work stress, navigating social eating when energy is low, traveling during perimenopause, and daily scenarios that don’t fit wellness industry templates.

client stories

Rachel

“I used to spend so much mental energy thinking about food—what I should eat, when I should eat, whether I was eating too much. Working with Emily helped me realize I could trust my body. Now I eat when I’m hungry, stop when I’m satisfied, and actually enjoy my meals without guilt.”

Taylor

“The Love Food Again Program was exactly what I needed. Learning alongside other people who understood my struggles made all the difference. I finally feel normal around food and don’t obsess about every bite I take.”

Nida

“I’ve finally gotten to a place where I’m not obsessing about what I put in my body and how my body looks anymore. I wanted liberation from all of that I finally have it.”

it’s normal to have questions…

some FAQ

What if I want to lose weight during perimenopause?

I understand this concern is common. It’s true that some people experience weight changes during this time due to hormonal shifts. We’ll work together to distinguish between changes that are natural parts of aging that you can learn to accept (and not view as problems to solve), and changes you genuinely want to make to feel better in your body. We’ll focus on sustainable approaches that support your overall health and energy rather than pursuing restrictive weight loss, which often becomes more difficult and counterproductive during hormonal transitions.

Is perimenopause weight gain inevitable?

No. While body composition changes are normal during perimenopause due to hormonal shifts, dramatic weight gain isn’t inevitable. We’ll work on understanding your body’s changing needs and supporting stable energy without restrictive approaches that often backfire.

What if I'm not sure if I'm in perimenopause?

Perimenopause can start as early as your late 30s and symptoms vary widely between people. We’ll work on understanding where you are in the transition and tailoring approaches to your specific experience and symptoms.

Can you help if I'm already on hormone therapy?

Absolutely. Nutrition support can complement hormone therapy beautifully. I work with people using all types of menopause treatments and can coordinate with your prescribing provider to ensure comprehensive care.

What if I have perimenopause and a history of disordered eating?

This intersection is incredibly common and in fact, eating disorders can be triggered by this transitions.  Perimenopause can trigger old patterns as your body changes and diet culture messaging around “midlife weight gain” intensifies. I understand how body changes, shifting hunger cues, and wellness industry messaging can feel threatening to your recovery. We’ll prioritize protecting your mental health and recovery while gently exploring ways to support your changing body that feel safe and sustainable.

I have another question.

I’d love to talk to you. You can send me a message and let me know what your concerns are. If it seems smart, we can set up a discovery call to explore more.

Ready to Navigate Perimenopause with Confidence and Support?

I’m here to help you cut through the wellness industry noise, understand your body’s real needs, and develop sustainable strategies that support your health during this transition without falling back into diet mentality or anti-aging obsession.
