For Women Who Want More Than Another Set Of Food Rules
The cultural silence around menopause has left generations of women unprepared, confused, and isolated. Meanwhile, the wellness industry offers “solutions” that focus on fighting against your changing body rather than understanding and working with it. I hear you saying:
“I’ve gained weight and nothing I try seems to work.”
“I know I don’t want to do another diet, but I’m worried about my rising cholesterol and blood sugar.”
“I refuse to view my body as broken just because it’s changing.”
This 3-part series breaks the worn out shame tactics with evidence-based, body-affirming approaches that acknowledge perimenopause not as a disease, but as a natural transition that deserves proper understanding and support.
You’ll walk away with:
Knowledge that replaces the silence. Understand what's truly happening in your changing body
Solid nutrition strategies that support your changing hormones for improved energy and mental clarity
Support with your relationship with food and your body during a life stage that can trigger old eating disorder patterns

A sustainable approach to supporting your long-term health that doesn't treat your body as a disease
Daily practices that help you reclaim power during a transition that society has minimized and medicalized

A Weight-Neutral, Feminist Approach to Midlife Nutrition
While most approaches ignore the physiological realities of midlife transition, this series acknowledges what you’re experiencing isn’t just “in your head” or about “letting go of diet culture.” It also recognizes that society has offered little guidance for this natural phase of life, often treating it as something to hide or “fix” rather than understand.
Your body really is changing. Your hormones are shifting. And your relationship with food needs to evolve alongside these changes.
That’s why I created the SHIFT framework—a practical, compassionate tool to help you respond to emotional eating and cravings without falling back into guilt or control.
SHIFT stands for:
Spot the urge, Hold the pause, Inquire within, Find options, Take action.
You’ll learn how to use this process to move through intense eating moments with more awareness and agency—not perfection, just practice.
This series delivers:
-
Physiological Understanding of how your changing hormones affect hunger, satiety, and metabolism
-
Psychological Tools to navigate the complex emotions of body changes without falling back into diet mentality
-
Practical Strategies that respect both your health concerns and your need for a peaceful relationship with food
Hey there, I´m Emily
Registered Dietitian & Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor
Emily Van Eck, MS, RD is a registered dietitian and nutrition coach who specializes in intuitive eating, eating disorders, body image, and women’s reproductive health.
We live in a society where healthcare is largely reactive, nutrition advice is dominated by profit-seeking diet culture which is misleading people and causing us to distrust our bodies. This causes stress, low self-esteem, negative body image, disordered eating, and women who are out of touch with their bodies.
My goal is to reach people where they’re at so they can improve their health without diets, find peace and balance with food, and reclaim their life from dieting
The course is for you if:

You’re tired of hearing “just accept your body” without any practical guidance

You’ve tried intuitive eating but found it didn’t work for you because it felt like more rules or “things to do”

You’re worried about inflammation, joint issues, or metabolic changes but don’t want to return to restrictive dieting

You’re ready to stop saying “I don’t recognize myself anymore” and start building a new relationship with your evolving body

You’re seeking fact-based information about this natural transition and are maybe a little pissed that it has historically been shrouded in silence
