Your Food Story Deserves More Than a Meal Plan
Hello, I’m glad you’re here. The mainstream dialogue about food would make you think you’re a robot. Eat this, not that, and you’ll finally be okay. But your relationship with food is so much more than that. It’s wrapped up in your whole history of complex, human stuff. Working with a non-diet dietitian means we get to work untangling these things to help you feel free, confident, and never deprived.
Eating well, but without rules.
Nourish Yourself Confidently
Eating patterns aren’t random. They tell a story about restriction, control, emotions, body trust, and what you’ve learned to believe about yourself and your body. We look at what’s actually driving the struggle, not to judge it, but to understand it. That’s where real change lives.
You reconnect with your own wisdom. Diet culture has probably convinced you that you need an expert to tell you what to eat. We flip that: together, we help you remember that you already know what your body needs. Our job is to clear the noise and rebuild trust.
It’s about freedom, not rules. This isn’t about “fixing” your eating, or your body. It’s about untangling food from shame, fear, and control. You’ll move from rigidity to flexibility, genuine nourishment, enjoyment, body trust, and peace.
I specialize in nutrition support for:
Disordered Eating & Eating Disorders
Recovery work for binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia, orthorexia, ARFID, OSFED, and the complicated eating patterns that live in between diagnoses.
Chronic Dieting and Non-Diet Nutrition
Breaking the restrict-binge cycle, rebuilding trust with food, and figuring out what nourishment feels like when you’re done with food rules, restriction, and food anxiety.
PMOS
Supporting your metabolic and hormonal health while keeping your relationship with food and body front and center. This is gentle work that makes sure you don’t slip into diet culture’s tempting grip so you can find what works for your unique body.
Perimenopause & Hormonal Health
Making sense of how your changing hormones affect your hunger, cravings, body image, and food, and meeting your body with compassion and support, rather than blame and control.

I've finally calmed down around food.
Emily helped me change my relationship to dieting and crazy food rules with an unapologetic connection to feminism. I realized what thought patterns were keeping me stuck. Now I’m more satisfied, better nourished, and can finally trust myself with food.

What Sessions Feel Like
Our time together is conversational, exploratory, and deeply practical. No sitting there while I lecture you about portion sizes or hand you another meal plan.
We’ll dig into what’s been happening with food recently, explore what felt great and what felt awful. We’ll work to improve your decision-making process around food and unpack what gets in the way of you feeling nourished and at peace.
We’ll dive into body image work because food and body have to heal together. When you’re challenging old food rules, you’re probably going to bump up against fear of weight gain or intense urges to diet. We hold space for all of that while helping you see that taking care of yourself has nothing to do with the size of your body.
Together, we’ll figure out practical solutions for your grocery shopping overwhelm, 3pm energy crashes, or how to handle your mom’s comments about your eating. This is collaborative problem-solving – basically food therapy.
If you’re doing my Heal & Nourish program, I’ll also suggest specific modules and exercises that fit exactly where you’re at, so you’re getting the most targeted support possible.

“Now, I can actually listen to what my body wants.
I have a family history of diabetes, and I wanted to make sure I was taking care of my health. I needed someone with nutrition expertise, but who would also help me with disordered eating. I no longer feel like I’m betraying my body. I actually eat what I want and I’m proud of how I eat.”

"I've healed major anxieties around food and learned how to fuel and energize my body."
With PCOS, I would get the advice “just lose weight”, and I knew that was not the answer I was looking for. Emily is non-judgemental and empathetic, which helped me unpack the weight-bias I’ve experienced and my beliefs about food and my body. To put it best, I have transformed my relationship with food through our work.

My Philosophy
Nutrition interventions can be highly impactful for our health, but “just lose weight” is counter-productive and harmful. I do not promote or promise weight loss, and can help you unpack why you feel so tethered to it.
I use a weight neutral, Health At Every Size (HAES) approach for all clients, regardless of their body size. This means that I believe that all bodies should have equal access to unbiased healthcare. This viewpoint is also informed by intersectional feminism, anti-oppression theory, and body liberation.
I also understand why weight loss is so frequently recommended, even as it has failed you. I will guide you toward a view of health and your body that is best for your overall well-being, not toward a number on the scale.
This does not mean that I do not accept patients who are actively working on weight loss or on GLP-1s, but that I will continue to widen the focus for you and work on thought patterns, behaviors, well-being, and of course – good nutrition.
This also does not mean that I believe that health is the same for everyone, in every body. Often, body size does impact health.
I’ll provide you with a space to improve your health without overly focusing on the size of your body. We’ll look at the whole picture and use body-based, intuitive eating approaches and dietary changes (maybe supplements too) that are impactful without restriction.
The care I provide is highly individualized. I pull from many modalities and approaches with each client, including Intuitive Eating, mindful eating, self-compassion, DBT, somatics, and other therapeutic modalities.
I spend time creating a safe place for my clients to unpack difficult experiences with food and let go of long-held beliefs about food and their body. Then we can build new thought patterns, habits, and health-promoting routines. I do this by building a relationship with each person. That is how transformation happens.
WHAT TO EXPECT…
Compassionate, Relational Care
You do not need to be educated on the food pyramid, I’m pretty sure of that. I commit to providing trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive food and nutrition counseling in a way that centers your lived experience – your body, your rules.
Nutrition and Mind-Body Education
I use intuitive eating, mindful eating, and other nutrition and body image approaches dynamically with each client. We’ll find what works for you, so that it can be integrated into your life with flexibility and care. This is not a strict set of rules, but a framework for attuned and joyful eating.
A Guide To Walk Beside You
My role is to help you understand your relationship with eating better, and then to move you toward balance and nourishment. Being trauma-informed means I will do my best to create a safe place for you to talk about how you feel about food and your body. I will use nutrition therapy and other lifestyle approaches to address your health issues, but this will not come with shame, unhelpful weight-loss advice, or ignoring your uniqueness. If you are neurodivergent or chronically ill, I recognize you need a tailored approach.
WHAT NOT TO EXPECT…
Counting, Tracking, or Weighing
Using these external, rule and shame-based systems disconnect you from your body and can stand in the way of you finding balance. I love using body-centered journaling with clients, but this is very different that a tracker. We can talk about your weight, the details of your food, and why it’s so hard to let go of the rules.
The Finger-Wagging Food Police
I am not here to judge you or your choices. I have a firm belief that we are all doing our best with the resources we have. This belief allows me to help you consider what you want to change, and how you are already enough as you are.
Weight Loss Advice
I do not promise or promote weight loss. This doesn’t mean that you can’t desire it, just that THIS is what we can work through. How you want to feel about your body, not how you “need” to change it.
You deserve a life free from the constant worry about food. You deserve a relationship with food that feels abundant, calm, and gentle.
Answers to
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer telehealth or virtual appointments?
Yes! Sessions are done virtually via my safe, easy-to-use, HIPAA-compliant telehealth system, Healthie. Group sessions are done on Zoom.
Do you help people lose weight?
I do not promote, promise, or recommend intentional weight loss as a primary goal. If losing weight is your only goal, I am probably not the right practitioner for you. However, if you’re unhappy with your body, but what you really want is to feel better about this and nourish yourself better, we should talk. Weight and feelings about weight are complex and intertwined with oppression. There is so proven, safe, effective method for long term weight loss and so, I don’t recommend having that as your main goal.
How much time should I expect to work with you?
That depends on where you’re at now. If you’re dealing with disordered eating or chronic dieting, I recommend a 6-month commmittment. I created Heal & Nourish, because an internal committment to 6 months of work creates a critical pace and willingness to be patient and trust the process. This work is quite deep, and complex. If you give me 6 months, I’ll show you a new version of yourself.
How I schedule an appointment?
If you want to set up an individual initial session, click here to book. If you want to set up a free discovery call to figure out which of my services would be best for you, click here.
What is an eating disorder dietitian?
Eating disorders and disordered eating are complex mental and physical conditions. In my work in helping folks navigate the complicated world of eating disorders, I do my best to create a safe place where we can understand the root of your ‘food issues’ so you can nourish yourself well. We talk about food, body image, thoughts, feelings, motivations, all sorts of stuff. I feel supported and safe talking about a variety of topics with clients.
When do I pay for your services?
Individual sessions are either paid for at the time of service or if you are doing a package, you’ll have an automatic monthly payment. The 6 month counseling package can be paid up front or monthly. If using BCBS, please see the section on insurance payment.
Ready to Do the Deeper Work?
This kind of healing requires courage, patience, and the right support. I’m here to walk alongside you as you untangle old patterns, rebuild trust with your body, and find a way of eating and living that feels truly sustainable.
